New Zealand shares fall over Middle East conflict fear

WELLINGTON, March 2 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand's share market dropped on Monday in the first trading session amid the latest U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran.

The benchmark S&P/NZX 50 Index fell 1 percent, or about 145 points, in early trading.

The New Zealand dollar also slipped against major currencies, down around 0.5 percent against the U.S. dollar in morning trade.
